Preserve the whole document
Keep physical envelopes, attachments and delivery information. For electronic notices, retain original files and system records. Do not alter documents. Identify the issuing body, case and addressee rather than relying on the first page or a phone alert.
Distinguish an alert from the official record
A text or email alert may not display the complete record. PTT explains that UETS maintains acceptance, delivery and reading records. Access the official service through a known route instead of entering information through an unverified message link.
Do not infer a deadline from a general rule
PTT explains the fifth-day rule for electronic service. The required action, starting point and applicable procedure still need separate assessment. Do not apply one assumed deadline to every document. Share the complete notice and delivery information promptly.
Prepare a short briefing
Record the issuing authority, file number, document subject and when you became aware of it. Identify a different addressee and list earlier related documents or actions. Keep all attachments available. If authenticity is uncertain, establish an official verification route before paying or replying.
Before your consultation

- Delivery or UETS records
- File number and previous procedural steps
Frequently asked questions
Does not reading a notice prevent time from running?
Do not make that assumption. Service and deadlines require assessment of the document and relevant records.
Can a phone photograph help with the first review?
A legible image can help initially, but preserve originals, attachments and delivery records and agree how to share them.
